Containers can be classified based on their specific purposes, which include:

1、Ordinary containers: Also known as dry cargo containers, these are primarily used to transport groceries, stationery, daily necessities, medicine, textiles, handicrafts, chemical products, electronic machinery, instruments, and machine parts.

2、Refrigerated containers: These containers are designed to transport perishable goods at specific temperatures ranging from -60°C to +30°C. There are two types: internal and external refrigerated containers.

3、Open top containers: These containers have no roof and are equipped with a canopy made of canvas or plastic cloth that can be lifted by a crane for loading and unloading. They are suitable for transporting heavy and bulky goods.

4、Frame containers: These containers have no roof and sides and are loaded and unloaded from the side. They are used to transport overweight goods, livestock, and bare goods such as steel.

5、Livestock containers: These containers are specially designed to transport live animals such as cattle and horses, with metal mesh sides for ventilation and feeding.

6、Tank containers: These containers are used to transport liquid goods such as food, medicine, and chemicals.

7、Platform containers: These containers have a high-capacity floor and no superstructure, making them suitable for loading super-heavy and super-long cargo. They are shaped like railway flat cars and can be connected to transport cars.

8、Ventilated containers: These containers have 4-6 ventilation holes and are coated with a plastic layer, making them suitable for transporting goods that are sensitive to heat and stuffiness, such as fresh fruits and vegetables.

9、Insulated containers: These containers have a heat insulation layer and air inlets and outlets for adjusting the temperature inside. They are suitable for transporting goods that are sensitive to temperature and humidity.

10、Bulk containers: These containers have 2-3 small hatches on the top for loading bulk cargo.

11、Bulk powder cargo containers: These containers are similar to bulk containers but use nozzles and straws for loading and unloading bulk powder cargo.

12、Hanging containers: These containers are designed to transport clothing goods and other commodities with similar structures. As international trade continues to evolve, new types of special or multi-purpose containers may emerge in the future.
